Here you will find a collection of “fun” prints taken on summer trips with no central theme. Just a gathering of moments.
I’ve seen hundreds of natural patterns depicted in works of art. I often feel that I have seen these compositions many times before much like the ocean sand dunes and sea oats association.
Broken Pattern 24x24
The first three prints in this series -”Broken Pattern,” Jellies,” and “Drifters” are a break from this approach. A random branch, the uncontrolled motion of swimming jellyfish or the un-staged distribution of fish are all found in nature as it exist, not as it is manipulated.
Jellies 14x14

- Drifters 20×16
Zebra Flight 14x11
“Zebra flight” is the reward of an hours chase and hundreds of images. The goal: catch the elusive motion of flight exhibited by this, my favorite butterfly – found only in the gulf states, Florida and a thin coastal band extending north to South Carolina. I have chosen a black mat to accentuate the Zebra and pull her out of the composition. This is a remarkable image defining a fleeting moment.
