Brown-headed Cowbird 8x8.5

First let me say that this is not one of my favorite birds.  It has the nasty habit of placing its egg in the nest of small song birds (painted buntings for example) where upon the cowbird hatchling pushes the smaller young birds and eggs out to fall to the ground and die and remains to be fed and fledged by the host parents.  The cowbird population is increasing while the painted buntings are declining.  This behavior was derived as a necessity as the cowbird used to follow the herds of buffalo and could not stay in one place to raise their young so they passed that activity off to other species.  I have created a series of small bird prints that can be grouped or placed where a small print is best hung.
