Life is difficult for all wildlife. I watched this bird for over an hour in what could only be called a gully-washer of a rain storm. Patience (or was it perseverance) outlasted the drenching and then the preening started intermixed with the ruffling of feathers. Through it all, this old boy maintained his stately bearings. Just look at him flash his colors.
