Manor Oak 12 x 18

The live oaks of the Low Country often drape over the edge of the salt marsh and dip their lower limbs into the tidal waters.  Here is a lovely old tree in full command of its place along the Beaufort River.  It grows beside the manor house on Pleasant Point Plantation.

Its difficult to count the memories this image contains.  A time gone by in a simpler world.  I can stare into this print and I can recall sunny spring mornings getting ready to plant, or the end of a long day of harvesting.  It reminds me of my grandfather, hard work and the smell of plowed earth.

W. Munson in 1993 and has rapidly become a favorite among the many new complex blooms.  To think this all started with a simple roadside orange flower.
